*sigh* Ok, here’s the deal. The overarching story was fine, good even. But the thing that made this difficult to trudge through was the OVER describing of things. What do I mean? Remember when we were in school and our English teachers said that we need to “show not tell” and be descriptive in order to paint a picture in the readers mind? Well this did it waaaay too much at times in the parts that it didn’t need it and then lacked in others. For example, there was very little description of what the girls actually looked like. Maybe some hair colors but that was about it. I had a hard time picturing what these characters were supposed to look like. Yet on the other hand, when talking about grief it would over describe to the point of making it boring. I am not a skimmer and I found myself skimming larger parts of chapters to get back to the main point of the story.
