The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Annie Barrows, Mary Ann Shaffer
3.0
I really enjoyed the plot and learning about the lives of those under the German Occupation of the Channel Islands, although it is all fictitious but well researched. I didn't expect their to be a romance but it was subtle and not overbearing and the book mostly focused on the literary society. By the way, the title itself had me ready to read it and the story behind the naming of the society The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Societyis endearingly funny. Even more each character is so well intentioned and thoughtful and so very unique, it's hard not to fall in love with every single one.
