Lost Love by Kelly Elliott

3.0

Overall, the story wasn't bad at all. I enjoyed the beginning and I thought that the concept of the story was definitely what I was in the mood for. I'm a sucker for second chance romances and Cowboys, so I was really excited for this one.

However, I feel like that's where all the good aspects end. It was cute and interesting up until about halfway through. After that, it kinda just got dull and boring. The main conflict of the story was basically finding a way back to each other while facing their past, which they do once they finally get back together in the middle of the book. So it was pretty much happily ever after already halfway through the book.

The second half didn't really have any conflict to keep me excited or looking forward to the end. The only "conflict" that came up in the second was Kim showing up but that literally only lasted for about a chapter and it was HARDLY anything to worry about. To be honest, the second half of the book felt like an extended epilogue if anything.

The characters themselves are okay. The chemistry between Paxton and Steed was through the roof in the beginning but it kinda died off once they got together. For me, a romance book won't get anything higher than a three star rating for me if the author can't keep me interested even after the main characters get together, which is exactly what happened with Lost Love.

I'm still debating whether or not I'll continue on with the series. I do feel as though all the brothers are all very similar to one another and are pretty much the same exact character (playboy Cowboys who are not ready for commitment or relationships so they just sleep with various women) but with different names. I'm not really looking forward to reading 2-3 other books with recycled characters. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think the next book I'd actually about Amelia so I might give that one a try since I really enjoyed her character in Lost Love.
