This book was fine, but I didn’t like how some things happened.

Lachlan and Venetia were fine, but I didn’t necessarily like them. Lachlan tries to act like he’s a villain at the beginning, but it was obviously fake. Also, the fact that Jamie is supposed to be loyal to him, but doesn’t act like he cares about Lachlan’s orders just made the act annoying.

I was also a bit confused about Lachlan pretending to be dead. His mother warns him that he can’t be walking around as people will see him and it would ruin the whole plan. Yet, he doesn’t try to hide at all, so I didn’t understand who knew about him and who he was hiding from. I thought his clan didn’t know he was alive?

The mess at the end was annoying, and I got even more annoyed with Lachlan’s decision.

This book was fine, but I didn’t enjoy it. While I would be interested in reading about Charlotte and Michael and the next book in the series sounds fun, I don’t think I’ll continue.
