Overkill by Sandra Brown
2.0
Overall, it's not my favorite Sandra Brown novel. I loved the idea, but I just couldn't connect with any of the characters. Maybe it's because I also work in a law firm, I don't know. I think the romance came out of nowhere and, for a while, took me out of the story until the end, where it comes together a little more. For how deeply emotional this story could have been and I feel should've been, some of the sex talk was just nails on a chalkboard for me, especially with people who met in a seemingly professional setting. I also feel a lot of these characters just aren't likable. I'm sure thats the point, and im all for a morally gray character, but many of them just made too many bad decisions that would be hard passes for me, IRL.
It won't keep me from reading more of her books in the future or anything, but I personally just did not enjoy this one as much as I'd hoped, hence the 2 stars.
