hello?! the ending???

If you like book formats that are a bit more fun and move away from the usual format, then I would say definitely check this one out. This story in this book is told through diary entries, social media posts, emails, articles, and so on. I had the audiobook on at the same time and I have to say I enjoyed that quite a lot. Although I didn't know I had a limit of how many hashtags I can tolerate someone reading out loud in an audiobook and now I've found it. 😂

I would say, however, the format doesn't help much when it comes to characterisation. The characters were fun, however I'd say you mainly get two characters being explored the most. Other characters you meet sort of blend together and don't leave much of an impression and fall flat, which is why I couldn't bring myself to rate this more than 3.75.

The ending was unhinged and dramatic and I was here for it. Very fitting for the overall vibe of the book. Even though I had my guesses for some elements of the story, I didn't see the whole ending coming. And honestly, for the ending alone I would say read this book. It was shocking, cold, and it messes with your head.

This book was compared to a lot of things but if you enjoyed Inventing Anna, then yes the vibe is pretty similar. I know there was some comparison to the Devil Wears Prada, but apart from some scenes at the beginning, I don't think there were many things in common.
