They Were Here Before Us is an excellent novella, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. My main gripe with it is that it doesn’t feel like a single novella. It feels like a short story collection instead, as none of the stories really link together. Other than that, the books is excellent, and is my third book by Eric LaRocca rated above 4 stars, so it solidifies them as a favourite author for me.
Graphic: Body horror, Gore, and Blood
Moderate: Homophobia
