This was overall a good standalone fantasy novel. I had a rough time getting into the story at first, but after reading the first 50 pages I was enjoying it. The story could have been shorter, but the ending sure makes up for it. The worldbuilding was done very well and I liked the characters. Silas was my favourite. The magic system was also very unique and unlike I’ve ever read before.
