Animal Farm by George Orwell

5.0

When I started reading this book, I thought it was going to be a story about animals taking over the farm and that we would follow their antics. That was partially true. We follow the animals as they overthrow the reign of cruel farmer mr. Jones. When that happens the animals live in unity for a little while. But soon after they have taken control of the farm,
the battle for power begins. And it doesn’t end well. I don’t want to spoil the ending and the further events of the book. But I do think this is a timeless and classic read.

The message within this book was also a strong one. Orwell criticizes the totalitarian rule and it’s still relevant in the modern age. He shows how the ones in charge seized power and control over the “working class”, to benefit themselves even more. Orwell did an amazing job at portraying the characters. I really felt for them.
