Into the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes

5.0

What a thriller!

I first heard about this book on Channel 4’s TV Book Club. Where has that show gone? It sounded really interesting but I never really got round to reading it until now.

I’ve read a few thrillers so far this year and I do enjoy the genre especially when it is as well written as this is. Haynes mixes great characters with mystery and some cracking prose.

The two timelines unravel so well together until they leave you breathless and fumbling from page to page to find out the end.

With lots of books I’ve read this year, I haven’t cared about the characters. In this case I cared too much for Cathy. I worried for her safety constantly. It was so vivid and paced so well there was nothing for it but to get dragged into the story.

I will definitely be looking out for more works by Elizabeth Haynes.
