As my second Dostoyevsky book, this was recommended by several friends after I shared that I didn't quite like the first book (The Double) I read last month. I am happy to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this one!

It was fast paced, each chapter contained each day that the two characters met up to get to know one another and to share their sorrows, to which they try to patch each other up. It went on for five days, and every chapter was so lively, I felt like I was really there with them.

I could relate to the main character so well at times, it felt like I was reading a book written about me in another universe. And the girl was so lovely, I didn't blame him for falling for her.

It was a beautiful short story, and I could see myself reading it again and again for years to come.
