My Husband's Wife by Jane Corry

5.0

This book shocked me it was a dark twisted psychological thriller. Filled with unreliable characters who were deeply flawed in their own way. Told in the POV of Lily and and Carla. Newly Married Lily and Ed are beginning their new lives together. Lily is starting her career as a criminal Lawyer and she’s insecure when she uncovers some of her husbands secrets, and Ed as an artist. Carla a little Italian girl who is very manipulative lives with her single mother who has regular visits from a man named “Larry”, they befriend Lily and Ed after an incident happened at school. Soon Ed begins to paint little Carla and finds success after his painting of Carla which he named ItalianGirl gains attention. When Lily takes on a new client Joe Thomas who was convicted of murdering his girlfriend she sees her career take off and also her life gets complicated, did Joe really do it? The book jumps twelve years and it appears Lily and Ed’s lives have completely changed and their world is turned upside when the now adult Carla drops into their lives. From here the plot changes with a murder, lies and revenge and soon your head is spinning with which character to believe whose lying?
