World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks

4.0

I loved this book! A friend was talking about it at a recent party so when I saw it I thought "why not" but I was really amazed at what a good story it is. Told as a collection of memories shared by the 'survivors' of the zombie wars years after the events its actually a really interesting commentary on current social and cultural attitudes. Like some other modern apoclypse stories you see people coming together in surprisingly inspiring ways, facing adversity with integrity but also the profiteers (I personally loved the story of the hired bodygaurd for the celebrities who were prodcasting their own reality show who are eventually overrun by regular people seeking protection). A great read I loved it, now ask yourself "could I survive the zombie apocalypse"?
