I picked up this book after starting the Alpha and Omega series, which is a spinoff of this series. There have been a few small references to Mercy or Adam and the pack, and I wanted to know more about them.  I am glad I came to this series if this first book is any indication.  I really enjoyed this fast paced plot-based storyline and all the characters came in and out of the story pretty easily.   I've already got book 2 on hold with the library.
