Two reasons that made me like this book. To begin with, we encounter many terms of criminology. Herman himself is a student of criminology at the University of Indonesia. That caught my attention because I like things that involve the knowledge of criminals. In this book, we were made to realize that the world is crueler than what is in our heads.
Nia tallu cappa' bokonna to lampaiyya, iyamintu: cappa' lila, cappa' laso, cappa' badi'.
It's one of pappasang to riolo, ancestral messages in Bugis-Makassar tribal culture that are devoted to bu'rane or a man. In this case, Herman was born in Makassar and migrated to Jakarta is required to carry a badik, which is a sharp weapon and prohibited by airports and ports. That's defined to all intents and purposes question for me because remembering my father, who also used to wander, clearly took his badik with him when he left Makassar. The ancestors believed that the badik or kris had magical and spiritual powers, even the badik that was well taken care of and was usually very old. The explanation of Bugis-Makassar culture in this book makes a second reason for me.
