I initially tried to read a sample of the novel version of this series, but after not being able to visualize what was happening, I decided to not officially pick up the series. Then I found out there was a Manhua version and since I still had FOMO over hearing so many good things about this series, I decided to pick up this version, and I have to say this was a really enjoyable first volume! Wei Wuxian is such a funny and lighthearted protagonist considering he’s supposed to be the grandmaster of DEMONIC cultivation. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was wrongfully executed considering everyone seems to be so casually using inventions he presumably created WITH demonic cultivation. IDK seems a little hypocritical if you ask me.
