I've always been a fan of Kerry Washington's, but like many, I fell in love with her as Olivia Pope (reading this inspired me to rewatch Scandal, which is just as good the second time around!) After watching Kerry Washington's conversation with Oprah promoting the book, I added her memoir to my TBR immediately. I was captivated by her vulnerability and the openness with which she spoke about her and her family's secrets and healing processes.

I will be thinking about this quote from the book for awhile, "We are as sick as our secrets, and there is healing in community."
