If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones

3.0

3 stars. Not sure how I feel about this book to be completely honest. It gave me so much mood whiplash it's not even funny. I really do like Lisa's writing style but her books are just so hit or miss with me. This one was definitely a miss unfortunately.

I really liked the suspense part of the book, even though there really was so little of it. When it was about Rebecca and wanting to find her was great but that was quickly abandoned to turn into a typical adult romance. I didn't like Sara's character at all. She's the definition of a pushover and I don't like characters like that. She completely lost focus really early on to be swept off of her feet by Chris. I didn't care for Chris either. He has no personality outside of "bad boy painter with a tortured soul" but it did nothing for me. Mark was one character I did really want to see more of. Until the very end of the novel though he was just kind of there. Hopefully the next book has more about him because I was really intrigued by the little bit of character I got from him.

Not a bad read overall but damn do the characters need work. Here's to hoping that the next book gets back on track about finding Rebecca.
