American Gods by Neil Gaiman
5.0
I still need to marinate a bit more but I'll say that I went into this book completely blind. I'd never read anything by Gaiman before and I didn't even know who he was. The edition of the audiobook that I had was the 10th anniversary edition and it had a full cast. I'm sure that had a lot to do with why I loved it so much but I will definitely be picking up a physical copy so I can go back and annotate some stuff.
This is a story unlike anything I've every read before. I can't really compare it to other books...not even sure what genre I'd put this in if I had to chose one. And it's kind of intimidating with it being 19+ hours long. But the full cast totally made it feel like theater. Gaiman narrates large exerts. It's just really well done from top to bottom. 10/10 would recommend and reread!
