She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb

3.0

Not everything has to have a silver lining or a happy ending, but to read through an account of someone’s entire life without a single period of happiness was d e p r e s s i n g. Yes, we all have tragedies in our lives that we can relate to but when reading about them I’d like to come out feeling better about it somehow, not worse. It also didn’t feel right reading a book about a girl’s/woman’s struggles written by a man, especially when many of her problems resolve around sexual experiences. The book was well written, and I get what Lamb was going for, but I would never recommend this to anyone.
