God Emperor of Dune by Frank Herbert

3.0

This is such a weird love/hate for me. There are incredible bits in it, and from a literary standpoint the length truly makes you feel the bitterness and longevity of Leto II. He's been there forever and boy you feel that way too. But oof, some of the stuff *cough cough Nayla/Idaho climbing sequence cough cough* are so unnecessary it made it painful to get through at times. I felt if I had to hear about how Leto II can't have sex one more time I would have dnfed. lol

A massive dropoff in enjoyment from the others but I can't say that it didn't have some amazing bits that are still incredibly timely regarding politics/religion.
