Murder in Mesopotamia by Agatha Christie

4.25

For 90% of the book I thought this was one of the very best Agatha Christie novels. It's brilliantly written and you gradually learn more about the characters as the plot develops and - crucially - their relationships with one another.

The big reveal is exceedingly clever. But the way the murder was executed was a little far fetched (would have required too much luck) and the fact that the victim did not realise the nature of the murderer earlier just felt implausible to me.

Nonetheless, it really was a rivetting read
