While I don’t think it was the most original story, it has strong Pet Sematary vibes, I really enjoyed Winter People and the way the story unfolded. I read it quickly and was engaged the whole time, wanting to know what was going to happen. The vibes were eerie and suspenseful throughout. Both the 1908 and present day storyline were engaging, I was never upset with the changing perspectives. This is the first book I’ve read from McMahon, and I’ll be adding the rest of her work to my tbr. I can’t say I would reread Winter People, but I’d recommend it to someone wanting a good book on a cold dreary day.
