It’s probably a bit unconventional to review a sequel before the first in a duology, but this was one of only a handful of 5/5 star reads for me in 2022 and I want to scream about it from the rooftops.

In Here’s to Us, we’re reunited with our beloved MCs Ben and Arthur, who (spoiler alert) mutually called it quits in What If It’s Us. Ben is (begrudgingly) a college student who is still living in NYC and now works part-time for his dad at Duane Reade. Arthur has just finished his freshman year of college and returns to NYC for the summer after securing a prestigious off-Broadway internship. While there’s no ill will between the pair, they haven’t spoken in a few months by the time Arthur arrives.

The same heartwarming serendipity from What If It’s Us occurs and B&A find themselves back in one another’s lives. However, they’re both in relationships; Ben with Mario and Arthur with Mikey. Don’t worry, there is no infidelity in this book! Even as B&A start to acknowledge their non-platonic feelings for one another, they remain faithful to their partners, which I loved. I also loved the return of B&A’s quirky friends (cc: Dylan) and TWWW. Second chance romance tropes are one of my favorites and this HEA was absolutely everything to me.
