The Earl and the Fairy, Volume 1 by Ayuko, Mizue Tani

3.0

I'm writing this after reading 10 books of the series.

I liked the first book quite a lot, although in hindsight the tone seems a little different from the rest of the series. Of course a lot of this is because of the nature of introduction, but this book has none of the romance most of the series heavily leans on, the distrust on Edgar and not knowing what he wants to do or how far is he capable of going had me on edge.

There is some credit for Mizue Tani, I HATE womanizer characters, even though I was deeply annoyed at Edgar's womanizing ways, I liked him enough... most of the time xD but sometimes.... sometimes I'd like to smack him! But well, as a demi-ace person I literally cannot understand lustlful or philanderer characters.

As a Dresden Files fan, the world building feels wide but not deep enough (I'm not sure xD if I'm spoiled by Jim Butcher?). But if you are here for the characters, relationships, feeling of adventure and can forgive a little lack in the world building, then I highly recommend this series.
