dear booktok, im TIRED of being lied to. this book was so severely hyped up and i was so let down. while this book contains good writing, i was bored. i wanted to DNF it about 20% in but got to see it through.

this book contained like no plot and it read like the reality show that it is. there was no depth and i felt about zero emotional connection to the characters which was so upsetting because the potential was absolutely there.

it’s genuinely just a book about a girl who is scared to have sex and then she does, which you would think is exciting but it was so anti-climatic. there was a good enough attention and focus on the side characters and their issues too which i think really drew away from the main characters.

solid 2 stars because it wasn’t horribly written and the characters are kinda fun. honestly, i was already disappointed when i found out that the two mc’s were already together and i love a good enemies to lovers trope and the personalities were definitely there, just not the storyline. this is definitely more of a found family and character development book but in a way that we don’t see anything leading up to it. like it already exists. because there’s no actual plot.

REREAD:

i was wrong. i take everything back. i read this as a standalone when really you get the most impact from reading addicted first. it is crucial to enjoying and understanding this story more. i love it.
