One of the strangest books I've read in a while with a mysterious and distant protagonist. The writing style is intriguing and gripping. The turn of events bizarre. While the main character detaches herself from society, it seems she holds up a mirror to show that her society may be a bit detached and bizarre itself. Fascinatingly weird.
Graphic: Eating disorder, Mental illness, Misogyny, Self harm, Forced institutionalization, and Suicide attempt
Moderate: Rape, Sexual violence, Violence, and Vomit
Minor: Schizophrenia/Psychosis
