Wow. Once i get I have no words and just completely blown away by this. I find that with pieces of literature like this sometimes I just need to spew my thoughts. I can't believe this was published in 98. How aptly Butler tells the future is wonderfully awful, is the best way to say it. She tells us what the worlds has in store for us, but also what we have in store for ourselves. But she also kinda tells us how to solve our problems. Make America Great Again line in this book is fucking chilling. There is no better description. This book is a perfect example of weaponized religion. This might be controversial. I think everyone religion is has good in. The bad from every single religion comes from the human experience. Some human will take any religion and mold it to their cause, and when systemic issues come about its the religion blamed, not the person welding their words. What so amazing about this book is Butler has a character Lauren and Lauren's belief is not based on religion at all. Its based on logic and science. I think when Lauren is trying to make her beliefs more palatable for the human experience so her phrase is God is Change. This is just so phenomenal.
It's so ironic that Butler is getting the point of cross through Lauren that people should rely on their talents to make a better life for themselves and they can use education, logic, and truth to bring their  wants to fruition. And then on the other side Butler repeatedly  preaches to the reader like religions. God is Change. i found it utterly fascinating. The style of this book changes up a little from book 1, with the introduction of a written diary basically. This drew a lot more emotion out of the story in my opinion. There were moments that were lost but ultimately it served the novel well. I am not going to even go over pacing, plot, characters, them,  and style. It's all good. The writing is so beautiful, and effective!!

Be forewarned. This book is bleak, and harrowing , and the themes are heavy. This is analyzation of the breakdown of society.

I am sure many people will have many different reactions to this especially the religious an political themes. This will ruffle feathers and many people will be completely blind to this. Others will take other messages out of that I didn't get. I highly recommend you read these two books. If there is nothing else you read this month let it be these two books.

And Last for what I didn't Like: Fuck Marc!
