I first read this years ago and this is my first reread in a while. I’d forgotten how genuinely fun this book is; it’s so silly but really embraces that aspect of it. Violet is such a funny character whose quirkiness feels genuine, and Alex is so sweet and protective. I love how into her he is. The romantic side of this book is really strong – the chemistry is high, the sex scenes are steamy, and there’s some really sweet parts. I like how Violet becomes quite vulnerable despite being this bold, extroverted character.
I will say on this reread I felt like it was a bit long – the drama and conflict is a bit dragged out, especially towards the end, but the romance is so fun and steamy that it doesn’t really matter. It’s not a perfect book – some of the language felt dated to me – but it is so entertaining and silly and fluffy.
