I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison

2.0

The author tries to fool you into thinking that using every adjective and adverb in the dictionary constitutes good prose. Even ignoring the exhaustive descriptions; which don't describe much in many cases, these stories just aren't very interesting. Not to mention the horribly written female characters, which are described in every case as either overly emotional and dumb or just evil. Harlan Ellison takes every chance to stroke his ego before each and every story in one of his 'introductions' and it gets old fast. The first, second and fourth stories are the only ones worth reading.
