I feel that this book would have been far more enjoyable had I not read the Newsflesh trilogy first.
There were way too many similarities between the two stories and characters and it left me feeling like I had just read a Newflesh alternate universe rather than a completely different book in it's own right.
The writing was still fantastic and I will definitely continue with the series, but I found it to be predictable and many people, including myself, spent half or more of the book already knowing and expecting the big 'plot twist' at the end.
