This is a homey little book by human rights activist and former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. This election cycle has been full of sound and fury and nonsense, so when I saw this e-book on sale, I ordered it and read it as an alternative to the current nonsense. And it is just that - practical advice and lessons Mrs. Roosevelt learned over the course of her incredible life. The voice is so down-to-earth - it is like sitting in a comfy chair and having a conversation with your wise grandmother. Nothing earth-shattering, just time-tested wisdom. It was originally published in 1960, so be aware of the difference in cultural mores, etc.
