A truly heartbreaking story, yet I found it impossible to stop reading. The book explores themes of family and identity influenced by society and war, perceptions and politics.
I didn’t give this a full 5stars because I did find it quite upsetting (I know it’s supposed to be) and a little challenging to read a times (relating to the content warnings). These moments are definitely important for readers to see, but are upsetting nonetheless.
