Ouran High School Host Club, Vol. 8 by Bisco Hatori

3.0

In this volume we get an insight into how the friendship between Kyoya and Tamaki formed in the first chapter. The main focus of the manga is on the newly introduced character of Ritsu Kasanoda, who requests to be Mori's apprentice as everybody is afraid of him due to him being the successor to the most powerful yakuza family in Toyko, his looks, and upbringing. Ritsu Kasanoda wants to gain friends and seeks help from the Host Club.

I quite enjoyed this volume. I feel like I enjoyed this volume more than the last ones, but it is still a 3/5 star read for me. My favourite chapter was the one that was focused on Kyoya and Tamaki. I liked seeing how Tamaki influences Kyoya to be more cunning and ambitious. I didn't mind the main plot of this volume, but I wasn't too invested. I saw that is serves to be one of the indicators to Tamaki that he may like Haruhi more than as a friend.
