Young Mungo tackles intense yet important topics thats I belive Douglas Stuart writes in an appropriate manner.
I rated this novel a 3 as some scenes were too graphic for me and I had to put the book down on multiple occasions. Gallowgate and st christopher are the most horific characters I've come across in fiction in a while and they ruined the novel for me personally
I do however love the way in which Stuart writes and the Scotish dialect really adds to the characters and helps build on the reader's connection to these characters.

Graphic: Alcoholism, Homophobia, and Sexual harassment
