A Soul to Guide by Opal Reyne
4.75
AMAZING!!!!! i dont how opal keeps doing it, but i am just head over heels, OBSESSED with this series. this book took us to the elven world and i thought that was really cool. i love the ongoing plot in this series and seeing how it builds and develops with each book.
i absolutely LOVED raewyn - she was such a badass. i truly think opal did a great job at picking her sensitivity readers for raewyn's character, as i feel the BIPOC and disability rep were done very well. and merikh??!?!! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. he truly is that sza snl song that's like "i want a big boy, give me a big boy..." he was the grumpiest grump, but god, his backstory had me crying my eyes out.
the only reason this isn't a full 5 star like the rest of the books for me is because there were just moments (very briefly!) that i was pulled out of the story and/or bored. otherwise, i loved it and i cannot WAIT for the next installment!!!!
⚠️: violence, death, grief, blood, injury/injury detail, bullying, confinement, xenophobia, body shaming
