Skin and Other Stories by Roald Dahl

Oddly enough, I enjoyed the majority of the stories in this collection with my favorites being the titular “Skin,” “Lamb to the Slaughter,” and “Dip in the Pool.”
For whatever reason, Pamela in “My Lady Love, My Dove” reminds me of Annie in Stephen King’s Misery. I felt like some of the stories closer to the end got a little dull, particularly the one about poaching pheasants. I’m also not at all sure what’s going on with the ending of “The Wish.” It seems kind of like the little boy might be dying and his game of making it across the carpet is him deciding whether he’ll live or die? I don’t know, but I also wasn’t a huge fan of that one and “The Surgeon” made me oddly tense.
