Between Wrath and Mercy by Jess Wisecup
4.0
It’s definitely 4/5 but debating on making it a 4.5/5
The cover sold me on this one. Then followed by the rather unusual main character choice for a high fantasy. Following the adventures and determination of a mother just wanting to get her child back safe and sound was a journey filled with emotions.
Watching Emma grow from page one to the last was such a satisfying development. For years she was in hiding but near the end of the book she truly comes out of her shell and fights.
Rain might be taking the spot as best male love interest ever. He had all the qualities (strong, leadership, sexy, smart). His previous relationship with Emma (yes y’all this is a second chance romance
