A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik

Did not finish book.

2.0

Initially, the plot had intrigued me. I was hooked. This feeling, however, lasted for about 10 minutes, give or take. After El’s—the main character—brief run-in with Orion, the reader is subjected to a longwinded and poorly-integrated info-dump which took me right out of the story. Couldn’t get through it without a headache. And that’s saying something, since I’m usually an absolute sucker for internal monolues. Dnf at 6%.
