American Queen by Sierra Simone

2.0

‘if you can't accept that, then say my name right now and we will step back and renegotiate our relationship. but if you are willing to submit to the fact that i will move fucking heaven and earth to keep you from harm, then say yes, sir.’

this is my first book by sierra simone and boy oh boy did it leave me speechless….

greer galloway, the granddaughter of an american vice president, has a gift for understanding politics. her grandfather admires her keen ability to read people, noticing the slightest changes in their expressions and detecting when they're nervous. she’s sharp. she’s also self-aware, knowing her own desires and values. at just fifteen, she meets ash, who later becomes the president of the united states. six years later, she meets embry, who becomes ash’s vice president. greer has feelings for both of them, but in different ways, and she knows that not all her desires may be fulfilled.

‘you belong to yourself and you belong to me, and i don't fucking care that it seems to be a contradiction because we both know it isn't.’

this book had more spice than plot…i feel like simone tried to make a plot out of it but 95% of it was s*x, and s*xual tensions rather than anything really happening. i felt like the cliffhanger at the end didn’t really make sense i mean they were all happy together and then that happened. there was no smooth transition between the plot and the spicy scenes in the sense that rather than the spicy scenes being a part of the plot it was more like the plot was on the side and the focus was on those scenes.

i mean if you want something with A LOT of spice this would be for you but personally it wasn’t for me..
