Maaaan. Let me start by saying I feel for all the shit Beyah had to put up with in order to survive. No one should have to go through that, especially a child. I feel for her addict mother as well. It was very heartwarming when Beyah said she chooses to miss her mother for the person she could have been if not for her sickness, because that is exactly what addiction is. Your brain is hijacked and it takes over who you really are. I’m happy Beyah met Samson. The sadness in him recognized the sadness in her. I love that she didn’t give up on him after he was arrested. She knew he was a good person, and sometimes good people do wrong things based on their circumstances. She empathized with the darkness in others because she could relate to that exact same darkness. I’m glad she found a loving family and a passion for law. I’m glad her father stepped up. I love how this story was told. It was real and reality based. Beautifully expressed. Colleen Hoover did a great job.
