He Who Drowned the World by Shelley Parker-Chan

5.0

When I wrote the SWBTS review (which I stand behind still) ohhh it was all giggly wasn't it??? All fun and games?? Nooo fictional character don't embody what I dislike most about myself I'll cum! What the fuck was that! Genuinely! When Shelley Parker Chan said "oh I enjoyed SWBTS but it wasn't, craft-wise, what I wanted it to be" I didn't believe them I was like I get it but how much more can HWDTW deliver! Needless to say got my ass handed to me. Needless to say I'm the only one THAT FUCKIIINNNG gets it NO ONE gets it like I do, needless to say reading this during hospitality shifts made me feel so violently dysphoric I was fighting the urge to bite a page off and vom constantly. What the fuck was that! What the fuck was that! When I said they knew how to write masculinity in fantasy they should've stopped THERE called it a day whatever the fuck this book is should have Shelley put behind bars. Not normal about this in any way but less so than I even anticipated.

Loved it. Loved it all. Love my fucked up lil guys (gender neutral term) so much. I could not fix them but they could make me, the reader, worse, and truly that's all queer fiction should be about. Good day.
