The Saturday Night Ghost Club by Craig Davidson

4.0

I finished this little wonder in one sitting. This story was a gorgeous meeting of a nostalgic coming-of-age story and poignant adult life lessons. The book has a simple premise, a boy and two of his new friends spend their summer investigating local ghost stories with the boy’s eccentric uncle. As the story develops, though, it is interspersed with ruminations on life and memory, and soon develops a darker truth than you would expect. Sometimes, ghosts aren’t the dead people who walk the earth, sometimes, ghosts are memories.
