The Huntress by Kate Quinn

5.0

I confess that I was filled with dread when Good Ol Amazon conveniently delivered a used copy of Kate Quinn’s The Huntress to my mailbox. Over 500 pages. I would be reading this book forever and a day. What was my book club thinking? Goodbye to that stack of books I was hoping to read on my own in between book club books!

(I felt guilty for thinking that for I do so love my book clubs.)

I still had not picked up The Huntress a couple days later when I assured Cindy B, who is Catherine’s Physical Therapist, and our newest Book Club member, that there was no expectation for her to finish The Huntress by Thursday, May 2. I told her that I would not even make a dent on The Huntress much less finish. I went as far as to assure Cindy that most in our book club would not finish either except maybe Tracy who promoted this book at our last book club. Cindy had nothing to worry about.

Later that week, I picked up The Huntress, and started reading. I found that I could not stop. I read and read and read. Before I knew it, there was only 10 pages to go. I was stunned to realize that I read the whole book in just 2-3 days!

When the following Tuesday rolled around, I sheepishly informed Cindy that I had already finished despite what I said the week before. “It was that good!” I said.
That good? Cindy asked incredulously.
THAT good! I emphasized!

I hope Cindy is reading it by now. She’ll be finished by May 2 with no problem. I promise, The Huntress is THAT good!.
