The Fire Between High & Lo by Brittainy C. Cherry
4.0
4, High & Lo Stars!
“His soul was set in flames, and he scorched anyone who stood too close. She stepped closer, unafraid of the ashes they were destined to become.”
“The truth is I want you. I want you back in my life, in all ways and more. I can’t stop thinking of you, High. Not to escape reality, but to embrace it. You’re my heart. You’re my soul. I want you. All of you. And more than anything right now, I want to kiss you.”
“I shrugged. She shrugged. I laughed. She laughed. I parted my lips. She parted her lips. I leaned in. She leaned in. Our lips locked as our souls became forever intertwined, and even though my feet were planted firmly on the the ground, I’d never in my life felt so high.”
So many highs. So many lows. That is the best way to describe The Fire Between High & Lo. This is one of those books that captures you from the very beginning and will take you on one heck of an emotional journey. This book isn’t pretty. In fact there are a lot of tough and frustrating moments. The characters are real and raw and you can’t help but fall in love with them and hope for the best for them.
The Fire Between High & Lo is a beautiful friends to lovers/ second chance romance. This book will easily consume you and make it impossible for you to put down. This book will captivate you. It will make you laugh. It will make you swoon. It will frustrate you. It will pull at your heart. It will make your heart ache and break, at times. These characters are not perfect, some more broken than others. They make mistakes…..boy do they make some stupid mistakes. But, they learn from those and pick themselves back up again and make up for the past wrongs.
I don’t know what else to say other than I really enjoyed this book. It gave me so many feels and took me on such an incredible journey. Thank you so much to Brittiany C. Cherry for providing me with another beautiful, heartfelt read. I definitely recommend checking this one out.
