Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

3.0

I've heard a lot of great things about this book, but I have mixed feelings about it. I don't think that it was bad, it just didn't make me excited. I didn't get the feeling that I always get when I really like or I'm interested in the book. The biggest problem, I think, was that I knew one of the biggest spoilers (about Dr. Golan). I already knew that I can't trust him. So, I was suspicious the whole time and wasn't surprised when He exposed himself to Jacob and the kids.
Another thing, that made me disappointed: I didn't connect with the Peculiar Children. I didn't feel close with them at all. Only with Emma and Millard, just because they were active in the middle and the end of the book. Other kids were just there, but they meant nothing to me. I felt like I just needed more details about all of them, but Miss Peregrine and Peculiar Children appeared quite late in the book.
Overall, I might like the other books better, because I feel like there's so much more to this story, and this book was just a beginning. Although, It'll be quite a challenge to continue reading this series 'couse of the first impression that I've got. I'm not giving up, but the sequel is definitely not the first one in my to-read list.
