What starts out as a whimsical adventure with the “good ol space boys” at a boarding school on Mars with their pet… thing… Quickly becomes a soft drama of politics and interplanetary relationships. Heinlein’s sharp eye for the, at that point, unexplored reaches of outer space is exciting and fresh with enough detail to keep us readers locked in.
