Gun Street Girl by Adrian McKinty
2.0
The more Sean Duffy books I read, the less I understand his character. He is allegedly a Catholic, but it’s just tacked in here and there. He doesn’t seem to change or grow, and I have no idea why he remains in the RUC.
His lovers have about a 50% survival rate, which I find to be misogynist and also old-fashioned.
These are more like action stories or spy stories than police procedurals.
I am interested in McKinty’s portrayal of Northern Ireland so I will keep reading. I do enjoy most of the book, but the sour notes are very sour.
