The Husband Hoax by Saxon James

3.0

3⭐️ Hilariously Disastrous!

The Husband Hoax was quite an interesting read. I feel the side characters (especially Elle) are what made this book!

Christian is an absolute disaster but he makes it work. His dynamic with the other Bertha Boys was super cute! I loved that they were always there for Christian when his klutzy self screwed something up, which is a constant for him. I didn’t quite understand his attachment to his family and his intense desire to prove to impress them, however.

Émile has the opposite problem and wants to escape his family desperately, hence why he needs Christian to be his fake husband in order to get his inheritance so he can cut ties with the family for good. I think Émile was a little naive in trusting Christian so quickly. I would have liked to see Émile’s trust grow rather than him just having a feeling that Christian was a good guy.

Unfortunately, I liked the humor and banter of the side characters more than I did the couple. I felt that they fell a little too fast… I would have liked if their relationship had more time to grow before they decided they were all in, but every story is different and I can understand why it was written this way!
