The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

5.0

The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a kind of book that you just couldn't put down. I merely took few hours to complete it and later tried to google it "Real Evelyn Hugo" only to find out it was merely a fictional character. Although Google claimed this book resembles the life of late actress Elizabeth tailor. I don't know how far this source of information is accurate.

Well, 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a book that portrays the idea of strong female representation. Evelyn Hugo was born in a poor family, her mom passed away when she was young and later her dad married her off only to shrug responsibilities from his shoulders. At a very young age, Evelyn Hugo learned to trade off her body for the things she liked. She always wanted to become an actress, so she traded off her virginity with a guy who could get her out from her father's house to LA. She worked as the waitress at a place in the hope to be found and discovered. As a matter of fact, she did! As her life continues we discovered many secrets about her personal, love life.

The writing style is very intriguing and it was a page-turner. Evelyn stood as a wonderful narrator of her story. She portrays as a strong woman who doesn't take shi* from anyone. She was mentally so strong that I envy her. Although with all the ups and downs from her I did not see the end coming. The end was unpredictable and oh boy it shooked me.

For me, it was 5/5
